The GRC (Global Ratings Composite) Index is a comprehensive framework for evaluating women's football teams and players across multiple dimensions. It represents WIFX's most ambitious effort to bring analytical rigor to the question of how we compare performance in women's international football.
Components
The GRC Index combines multiple ranking systems to provide a holistic view of team and player performance:
- WIFX Team Scores — Offensive and defensive ratings from tournament events
- WIFX Club Scores — Domestic league performance metrics
- WIFX Confederation Scores — Regional tournament results
- WIFX Player Rankings — Individual player event-based metrics
Methodology
The GRC Index uses a weighted composite approach, combining multiple ranking methodologies to:
- Reduce individual method biases
- Provide more robust comparisons across teams and players
- Account for different competition quality levels
- Balance offensive, creative, and defensive contributions
